If the quest gives gold, you get gold, but nothing more. If the quest is an Alliance/Horde quest, you WILL get a portion of rep towards all the Alliance/Horde main factions. As for rewards from quests at Exalted - that depends. Mostly it just unlocks certain high level items from faction vendors (like the Skywing Nether Ray Mounts).
