As I said in my last post, my new paladin has reached level 10, that means it’s time to choose our talents. The Paladin has choices between Holy, Protection and Retribution. But what talent tree is the best or I should say the best for you?
While you should choose the talent tree that works best with your style of fighting or how you’d like to fight, Got Warcraft says:
Retribution paladins, the offensive variant of the paladin class, have more recently become increasingly viable candidates for raiding positions as well as taking spots on arena teams where we were once seen as only healers. In fact, Paladins are now very common in high ranking arena teams and Ret Pallies are feared in the Battlegrounds.
Holy Paladins, however, have suffered somewhat for this, becoming increasingly unused in favor of shamans and druids as replacements. This in large part due to our inability to heal on the run and complete lack of AoE healing abilities, such as priests possess.
Finally the protection variant of paladin has prospered the greatest, finally taking a place alongside warriors and druids as a true possibility for primary tank throughout the raiding dungeons and various instances open to us.
My first instinct was to go the path of holy since I like using the all the spells and they help a lot while fighting but I’m going to give a good look at the other talents and combined with what weapons and armor I’d like to use, I may choose another talent spec. The good thing about choosing a talent in WoW is that you can test one, pay a small amount and change your talent tree when ever you like.
As far as talents go for ret paladins, all you have to do is fill the entire tree up, while levelling take the ones which give the best increase in damage.
Follow them guidelines and you should be good to go!
